MMK at the G20

I am delighted to announce that I have been selected to represent the United Kingdom as the Head Delegate to the G20’s Official Youth Summit (Y20) which will take place in July this year in Indonesia.

The Y20 (Youth 20) is an official body of the G20 like the B20 (Business 20) and W20 (Women’s 20). I will be joined by young leaders from across the G20 diaspora as we will come up with a draft list of proposals at our summit in Indonesia.

These proposals will be presented to the G20 leaders at their summit later on this year.

I was chosen to represent the UK due to the work that the MMK Academy has done. Through interacting with many young people from across the country, I have built up some experience of the issues that they face. I hope to use this experience to rectify some of these challenges.

As part of my role I will:

1. Consult with young people across the country and come up with policy proposals which will best remedy some of the challenges that our generation face.
2. Negotiate with other G20 Youth Summit Delegates from across the world to produce one document which we will present to G20 leaders at the G20 Conference.
3. Meet with and talk to UK senior politicians and policy think tanks such as Chatham House to see how we can best implement these policy proposals
